Magnetic Circuit Analysis of Hybrid Excitation Flux Switching Motor with Non-uniform Auxiliary Air Gap

In this article, a new non-uniformed auxiliary air gap is proposed to improve the output torque of the hybrid excitation flux switching motors (HEFSMs). A magnetic circuit model (MCM) is developed to predict the flux regulation capability of the HEFSM and the results are calculated and compared to finite-element analysis (FEA) results so that the validity of the MCM is verified.
