Rigorous Treatment of Construction Imperfections in High-Frequency Microstrip EMC Filters

The versatile manipulation of fabrication faults in the design of microstrip EMC filters, is presented in this paper. To this objective, two accurate frequency-independent methods are developed. The first scheme obtains the roots of a new polynomial from a system of equations and the second one creates a compressed polynomial. Both approaches require that the maximum local peaks of the distorted original polynomial are smaller than unit. The proposed formulation is successfully certified via a 4th-order microstrip parallel coupled-line bandpass filter at 62 GHz.
