Application Of An Analog-to-Information Converter Algorithm In FMCW MIMO Radar

One of the difficulties in building radio systems based on multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) technology is the digitization of a large data stream on each receiving channel of the system, since the large number of analog-to-digital converter(ADC) samples directly affects the amount of information flow between the ADC and the computer. One solution that could help reduce the flow would be the use of analog-to-information converters(AIC) based on compressed sampling theory, which can significantly reduce the flow of data transmitted to a computing device by digitizing at a lower sampling rate overcoming the requirement of the Nyquist Rate. This article discusses the possibility of using an analog-to-information converter in a Ku-band MIMO radar based on continuous wave technology with linear frequency modulation, operating at ranges up to 6 km. During the study, modeling was carried out, as well as experimental testing of the proposed solutions, as a result of which the possibility of reducing the sampling frequency of the ADC from 4 to 1 MHz was shown at the maximum signal frequencies at the ADC input up to 2 MHz. The influence of the number of targets and SNR on the operation of the algorithm was also considered.
