Development of an Enlarged Lange Coupler

In the work, enlarged broadband Lange couplers models were created in the electromagnetic simulator Ansys Electronics Desktop and their construction was optimized for ease of manufacturing. Based on these models, prototype broad-band Lange couplers were fabricated and studied. The obtained results of the characteristics study of the prototypes coincided with the simulation results. The prototypes of broadband Lange couplers were made on a substrate of FR-4 with a thickness of 4 mm using the method of gluing two plates of 2 mm each. The prototypes were investigated using a four-port vector network analyzer ZVA-24. The manufactured prototypes have a wide matching band and small losses in the operating frequency range.
