Usage of Noise-Resistant Coding for Stable Data Transmission over Household Electrical Networks

The paper explores various ways of noise-resistant character encoding for transmitting information over household power supply networks. Two-tone modulation is used to transmit information at frequencies in the $60-65 \mathrm{kHz}$ range. Also, two-tone modulation allows the use of ready-made radio modules, which makes the production of devices cheaper. A bandwidth of 400 bps is achieved. The transmission range is ensured by using low frequencies, as signal attenuation in the power supply wires is minimized. It also reduces the impact of household appliances on data transmission and makes it possible for the protocol to work in low-quality wiring. Based on the results of the experiments, it is proposed to use Hamming coding $(6,3)$ and some other ways to increase the reliability of communication, and the work also provides an authentication algorithm at the network level, taking into account the fact that the system should be able to work in simplex mode (the receiver may not be able to transmit response data). Experiments were conducted and conclusions were drawn showing the prospects of the above solutions and approaches.
