A MPPT Method Based on Model Predictive Control for Three-Level Flying Capacitor Boost

This article proposed a novel control method suitable for Three-level flying capacitor boost (TLFCB), which is widely used in photovoltaic system. To improve reliability and dynamic response speed, this article used model predictive control (MPC) strategy as the inner loop to control the flying capacitor voltage and inductor current. Besides, a disturbance and observation algorithm with variable step size is proposed as the outer loop to provide the reference of the photovoltaic voltage. While realizing power point tracking, it can also detect the state variables within the system and accelerate dynamic response. The effectiveness of this method is proved by simulation results.
