Optimum Trajectory Planning to Minimizing Loss of PM Linear Machines with Sandwiched Armature

To improve efficiency for free piston linear generator system, this paper presents an optimum trajectory planning method to minimizing loss for a novel PM linear machine with sandwiched armature. First, iron loss distribution characteristics considering magnetic field harmonics and rotational magnetization effects are analyzed by discrete parameterized method. And then iron loss and PM eddy current loss under different working conditions are calculated. Subsequently, by analyzing motion characteristics of mover, the mathematical description curve of operating speed is obtained. A speed trajectory planning method based on dynamic loss is proposed, and machines loss under four point-to-point speed curves is discussed. Finally, the optimal motion trajectory scheme can be obtained.
