Calculation and Analysis of Excitation Reactance of Fifteen-Phase Induction Motor Based on Field-Circuit Coupling

This article focuses on solving the excitation reactance for a 45 kW fifteen-phase induction motor. Based on the field-circuit coupling method and the air-gap magnetic density solved by the finite-element simulation, this article employs a dual-layer iteration process with the help of the T-type equivalent circuit in induction motors. The first layer involves the iteration of excitation reactance and excitation current, while the second layer involves the iteration of slip rate and target power. This approach can be used to determine the excitation reactance of the fifteen-phase induction motor under different operating conditions. Compared with traditional magnetic circuit methods, this method can consider the actual complex structure and material properties of the motor, and can more accurately calculate the effects of iron core saturation and slot effects, resulting in more accurate calculation of the excitation reactance. Finally, the accuracy of the calculation method is verified through the no-load experiment in this article.
