Design and Optimization Analysis of High-power Dual Three-phase Generator

Dual three-phase generator is a generator with two sets of three-phase windings on the stator. It usually has the characteristics of high power output with the medium and low voltage occasion and strong fault tolerance, so it is especially suitable for high safety requirements such as electric ship propulsion, aerospace and other occasions. In this paper, a high-power electric excitation dual three-phase generator is designed based on the ship. Firstly, the dual three-phase generator is preliminarily designed by the motor design principle, and then using multi-objective method to optimize of electromagnetic weight and efficiency for the preliminarily designed dual three-phase generator. The simulation is carried out by finite element software, and then compared with the data before and after optimization. The results show that after multi-objective optimization, the efficiency of the generator is improved, and the electromagnetic weight is reduced at the same time.
