A Simple Current Measurement Scaling Error Compensation Method for PMSM Drives

This letter proposes a simple current measurement scaling error (CMSE) compensation method based on the generalized integrator extended state observer for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drives with two-phase current sensors. In the proposed method, the CMSE is directly estimated and compensated in the stationary reference frame, which features simplicity and decoupling from vector control. The proposed method possesses frequency-adaptive bandpass filtering characteristics, ensuring the compensation performance at different motor speeds. Furthermore, the proposed method is developed based on a unified mathematical model for both the interior PMSM and the surface-mounted PMSM. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through a series of experimental tests.
