Frequency Sensitivity Analysis of Magnetoquasistatic System with Voltage or Current Excitation

This study proposed a higher-order frequency sensitivity analysis (FSA) of magneto-quasistatic (MQS) system driven by either voltage or current intensity excitation. Variational formulations for the FSA were derived from the voltage- or current-driven MQS system by differentiation with respect to angular frequency. Instead of a discrete approach, this study employed a continuum one, which results in the frequency sensitivity of an analytical form. The frequency sensitivity was expressed in terms of a magnetic vector potential (MVP), an electric scalar potential (ESP), and a source ESP. The higher-order frequency sensitivity was sequentially derived from the lower-order one by repeating differentiation. Due to the continuum approach, the frequency sensitivity was evaluated before the discretization process of the finite element method, and its numerical analysis could be easily implemented by using commercial finite element software. Two numerical examples were presented to demonstrate theoretical validity and numerical applicability of the FSA.
