Smart Helmet System with Wireless Communication through GSM

Due to the frequent occurrence of traffic accidents on our country’s roadways, safety measures and their associated technology are rapidly growing. The safety system’s improvement has led to a 5% reduction in fatalities from 2016 to 2023. Motorcycles are responsible for a higher number of fatal occurrences compared to four-wheel vehicles. The repercussions are more severe when a driver fails to wear a helmet during a high-velocity traffic collision. It poses a significant risk and can result in fatal fatalities. By taking preventive measures, accidents can be averted, and the implementation of intelligent helmets can potentially prevent fatalities. It is unavoidable that this system will decrease the occurrence of collisions. The proposed method relies on safety criteria and aims to regulate non-autonomous cars in order to protect human life. The proposed method is specifically tailored for implementation on highways and is principally intended for use in motorcycle helmets. The accident detection system of the non-autonomous vehicle forms the basis of this system. The proposed system consists of a controlling unit, a sensing unit, GPRS (General Packet Radio Service), GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), and a power source. The smart helmet technology will alert the hospital for emergency assistance. If the accident scene is far away, please provide the hospital’s location together with the registered mobile number. To expedite response, the proposed device will also transmit the precise position of the accident. Through the use of future advancements, the existing smart helmet will undergo further enhancements.
