Waterway Design and Temperature Field Analysis of Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Motor Based on Fluid-Solid Coupling

For the axial flux permanent magnet (AFPM) motor, efficient waterway design is crucial. This study uses fluid-solid coupling to analyze three waterway schemes: spiral, semi-spiral series, and semi-spiral parallel. Comparisons include flow velocity, pressure difference, and temperature. Spiral waterway is chosen based on cooling effectiveness and pressure difference. The impact on AFPM motor components, waterway, and pressure difference is analyzed. Subsequently, water injection flow, axial length, and radial length are determined. Comparison between preliminary and final spiral waterway schemes is made through steady-state and transient simulations. Finally, a prototype is manufactured, and a temperature-rise experiment verifies simulation accuracy.
