Intelligent Attendance System and Electricity Conservation Using IoT

The majority of educational institutions are now concerned with keeping track of their students' manual attendance. The manual procedure for recording attendance on paper is time-consuming and unreliable. To overcome the existing challenges, the monitoring system for marking attendance to be made efficient. Using attendance systems based on radio frequency identification (RFID) can help prevent problems like truancies. This paper describes the design of an Internet of Things-based attendance monitoring system that leverages an RFID tag found on each student's ID card to identify each student specifically. This streamline expedites, and increases the security of the attendance tracking process in comparison to older methods. Offices are among the workplaces where this technology is meant to be used. Additionally, the suggested system includes an automated door lock with an electricity conservation system. The proposed system component includes an RFID card reader, ESP32, servo motor, relay module, along with RFID cards. The proposed system software component includes Google sheets for viewing the student's attendance. The time of entry for the workers or students will be recorded once they just place their RFID card or tag on the scanner. The student must also tap their card, which will enable us to track both the number of pupils and the time they were in the class. According to the number of students, the mains will be switched on/off which will lead to electricity conservation.
