A Study of Optimal Gate Pattern Derivation Method Based on Switching Waveforms of IGBTs by Automatic Pattern Sweep in Active Gate Control

In recent years, the demand for circuit implementation and tuning of gate drive circuits to reduce surge voltage has become more severe due to faster switching speeds, and active gate control in which the switching waveforms can be tuned during circuit operation, has been studied. In active gate control, approaches using machine learning and GA approach have been proposed to select the optimal gate pattern. In this study, the optimal gate pattern is derived with automatic gate pattern sweep method for real-time feedback. Heat maps were obtained to derive the optimal gate switching pattern, the relations between the switching patterns and switching loss were discussed.
