Parameters Design and Analysis of Alternating-Voltage Controller for Grid-Connected VSC in Weak Grid

With increasing penetration of voltage source converters (VSCs) in the modern power system, the diminishing grid strength challenges the stability and voltage quality of the VSC-grid system. To cope with these challenges and enhance the grid voltage stiffness, this paper develops a straightforward method for designing parameters of the alternating-voltage control (AVC) loop. This method synergistically considers both the grid strength and control bandwidth. Furthermore, the study delves into comparing the impacts of different parameters on the stability and voltage regulation. Finally, the efficacy and validity of the proposed method is corroborated through hardware-in-the-loop tests.
