Fixed-time Sliding Mode Control for Large Inertia Motion System

Improving the dynamic response of position control is a key problem in large inertia motion systems. However, the motor stator current and rotor speed are always limited in large inertia motion systems for safety, these current constraints may lead to controller saturation during acceleration and deceleration, and further worsen the tracking performance. A fixed-time sliding mode controller (FTSMC) is proposed in this paper. The dynamic response is improved with a fixed convergence time while the current constraint will not be violated. The experimental results are given to validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
