A Three Phase Interleaved LLC Resonant Converter with Improved Integrated Planar Magnetics

In the applications of datacenter and electric vehicle chargers, LLC resonant converters are widely employed. As power levels increase, three-phase LLC resonant converters are used to reduce current ripple. However, the number of magnetic components doubles accordingly. To address this issue, a novel three-phase integrated magnetic core is proposed, reducing the volume by 17% compared to discrete magnetic cores, with a 23% reduction in losses. Finally, a 15-kW three-phase LLC resonant converter is tested and experimental results are provided to verify the effectiveness of proposed integrated magnetic core.
