Use of Learning Analytics to Evaluate the Impact of Didactic Strategies on MOOC

This article presents an analysis of the instructional model of the MOOCs offered by Open Campus, an initiative of the Universidad Técnica Particular de Loja in Ecuador. Key elements of the instructional model are identified and evaluated using learning analytics, and teaching strategies are proposed to improve the quality of the courses and achieve the proposed objectives. The results show a significant improvement in student approval levels after implementing the guidelines, suggesting that planning, updating activities, supporting participants, and improving content strategies have had a positive impact on student performance. It is concluded that continuous improvement and personalization are fundamental to maximize the impact of didactic strategies on online learning.
