Dynamic Characteristics of Pilot-Operated 2/2-Way Solenoid Poppet Valves

Solenoid poppet valves (SPVs) are commonly used in aerospace, construction machinery, vehicles, and other industries due to their environmentally-friendly nature, low cost, ease of integration, and lack of leakage. Explosion-proof the SPVs are highly suitable for use in hazardous environments containing petroleum and natural gas. Valve core pressure fluctuations, response speed, and noise are greatly affected by the opening/closing characteristics and dynamic properties of the valve. Our study analyzed the dynamic characteristics of the main valve displacement, flow rate, velocity and pressure during the valve's opening/closing processes using a high flow rate (150 L/min) and high-pressure (35 MPa) pilot-operated 2/2-way the SPV through system modeling. The study exhibits flow and pressure pulsations during the opening of pilot-operated 2/2-way the SPV. The results could guide research on dynamic characteristics, vibration, and noise of pilot-operated 2/2-way the SPVs.
