Simulation Study of Structural Deformation of Directional Valve Under Deep Sea Environment

The solenoid direction control valve is a key component of the underwater hydraulic system. Traditionally, because the deep-sea environment pressure is compensated, researchers believe that the direction control valve can be directly used in the deep-sea environment, but this is not consistent with the actual situation. In this paper, a fluid-solid coupling model of the direction control valve is established by using finite element analysis software Ansys Workbench to study the uneven deformation of the mating clearance between the valve body and spool of HT300/40Cr paired direction control valve under deep-sea environment. The simulation results show that under the high-pressure difference condition on land, the actual mating clearance of the direction control valve will be larger than the design clearance. With the increase of seawater depth, the actual mating clearance between the spool and valve body gradually decreases until it is less than the design clearance. Compared with that on land, the minimum mating clearance of direction control valve at 12000 meters deep in sea decreases by 20%, and the risk of spool jamming increases. At the same time, the size of the same fitting clearance of the direction control valve is inconsistent, and the size of different fitting clearances is also inconsistent. This study has guiding significance for the structural design of direction control valve in deep-sea environments.
