ANN Sensitivity Analysis Applied to Fault Classification in Transmission Lines

In this paper, we apply an artificial intelligence (AI) technique to classify faults in transmission lines and analyze the sensitivity of the Artificial Neural Network (ANN). Databases were generated using Matlab

software for a 230 kV transmission line spanning 180 km. The ANN, implemented with the backpropagation training algorithm, was used. The results obtained from the evaluation demonstrated that the ANN exhibited satisfactory performance in fault classification, considering the sensitivity analysis of the implemented neural network.
