Cost Analysis of Virtualized BBU Pool for 5G C-RAN

The Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN) design is a viable way to resolving the encounters that upcoming 5G will face. By integrating the Radio Access Network (RAN) with cloud networking, C-RAN offers the potential to optimize resource utilization and reduce energy consumption. In this study, we create a C-RAN system that uses flexible Base Band Unit (BBU) allocation, and a power model is provided to decrease the overall power consumption of the network. A cost model is also provided in order to reduce the C-RAN’s overall cost. The research also creates analytical models for comparing the T-RAN (Traditional RAN) model with developing cloud RAN architecture. The proposed network presents improved performance compared to the conventional network, according to the numerical findings derived under simulation circumstances.
