Design of Educational Model of 8-Bit Serial Communication

In the article, we proposed a educational model of serial communication, which is adapted to the needs of teaching for the 3rd year of the bachelor's degree in the subject of Design of electronic devices. We have designed a counter with a state machine that controls the counter. We designed and mathematically described an 8-bit serial line transmitter, with a STOP bit. We designed a serial line receiver, and we verified by simulation that the transmitted 8-bit data word is also correctly received. For the serial communication circuit, we have designed a printed circuit board that is adapted for independent operation and also control with a microprocessor.
