A 35-GHz Planar Aperture Rectenna for Wireless Power Transimission

A novel rectenna utilizing low-cost PCB process with high RF-to-dc conversion efficiency at 35 GHz is proposed. The receiving antenna is a planar aperture antenna with a simple structure, featuring a high gain of more than 15 dBi. By prolonging the antenna aperture and adopting a multi-section patch to block the region where the aperture electric field is reversed, the uniformity of the magnitude and phase of aperture field is improved and the aperture efficiency is enhanced. A class-F rectifier is printed on the back of the antenna and connected the antenna through slot coupling so compact integration of antenna and rectifying circuit without extra connectors is achieved.
