Secure Remote State Estimation Against Eavesdropping Attacks Under Communication Constraints

This paper studies the problem of remote state estimation in the presence of malicious eavesdroppers and communication constraints. At any moment, the eavesdroppers can steal the communication data between the sensor and the remote state estimator. Besides, the communication constraints, including the utilization of Round-Robin protocols and the occurrence of packet dropout, are also taken into account. Based on the Paillier cryptosystem, a secure remote state estimator is designed to against eavesdropping attacks under the communication constraints. Then, under some mild assumptions, the unbiasedness and the consistency analyses are provided in detail. Finally, the efficacy of the proposed remote state estimator is corroborated through simulation experiments.
