Automated Robot – Borewell Detection

In the fast-moving technological world, the demand for portable water is a huge problem and one of the solutions for the problem is to construct underground borewells. Although borewells satisfy the problem and reduce water scarcity, nowadays they are posing a threat to society. Opened and unused borewells also contribute accidents in rural areas. As per the National Disaster Response Force, more than 40 children have lost their lives after accidentally falling into borewells since 2009, and rescue operations have proven unsuccessful in over 70% of cases. This project provides a solution to find these open borewells and makes sure that the borewell is closed. Also, it sends a message to the respective personnel and a temporary solution is provided till it is closed by the government. This project involves embedded system and image processing which provides accurate and precise results. The Automated robot detects borewell using image processing and navigates using the concept of an autonomous obstacle avoider robot.
