Modeling the Impulse Response of an Underwater Wireless Optical Communication System

The Channel Impulse Response (CIR) for an Underwater Wireless Optical Communication (UWOC) channel is estimated by employing the Monte-Carlo numerical simulation technique. Realistic marine optical and system parameters are considered based on the reported literature. The estimated CIR is further modeled empirically to include the effects of optical and system parameters on the channel impulse response. The mathematical model of the CIR developed can be used for the performance evaluation of a UWOC system.
