Design and Simulation of a Bi-Directional CLLC Resonant DC-DC Converter

This paper presents the design and simulation process of a bi-directional CLLC resonant DC-DC converter with an integrated transformer for electric vehicle system (EV). The value of C-L-L-C will be calculated using the First Harmonic Approximation (FHA) method. A new close-loop algorithm control for increasing fast response is proposed. Besides, the synchronous rectification (SR) method will be combined with a new algorithm controlling turn-on and turn-off delays on the rectifier side. The simulation uses the simulation software PSIM® with 700W on the high-voltage side and 600W on the low-voltage side. The result of time response is reduced compared with the conventional algorithm (1.25ms in new algorithm and 2.25ms in conventional algorithm).
