Circularly Polarized Wideband mmW Wearable Antenna with Asymmetries in Circular Patch for n258 K-Band

Variety of planar antennas have been reported in last two decades for the millimeter wave applications. Due to high metal and dielectric losses most of the 4G laminates are limited in use for 5G trans-receive operations. In the proposed research, a compact circularly polarized single input single output (SISO) antenna with asymmetries in circular patch is designed for n258 (24.25 – 27.5 GHz) 5G mmWave band. The antenna with multiple sectoral slots at different angles and half-moon shaped slot is designed on Rogers 5880 substrate of size 21.65 × 18.71 × 0.508 metre cube. The proposed antenna covers the 2:1 VSWR frequency band of 22.38 – 27.50 GHz and axial ratio band of 23.98 – 25.59 GHz. The operating bandwidth is 5.12 GHz and the axial ratio bandwidth is 1.62 GHz. The presented design achieves gain of more than 5.7 dBi and more than 950% radiation efficiency in band. The maximum value of the gain in band is 7.94 dBi.
