Smart Gardening using IOT

In India, agriculture is characterized by diverse crops, ranging from staple food grains like rice and wheat to cash crops such as cotton and sugarcane. This diversity contributes to the resilience of the agricultural sector ensuring stability in the face of various challenges. The growth of the nation has consistently faced obstacles due to issues inhusbandry. The resolution to this problem lies in adopting smart husbandry, achieved through the contemporary adaptation of traditional farming methods. The intended system seeks to transform agriculture by integrating robotics and capitalizing on IoT advancements. The Internet of Things (IoT) serves a crucial role in enabling operations like monitoring and selecting crop growth, decision support for irrigation, and more. A pioneering smart irrigation system, utilizing Raspberry Pi technology, is recommended to revolutionize and amplify crop productivity. This innovative IoT- based system strives to introduce state-of-the-art technology into the field of agriculture, with a focus on optimizing water utilization for the most effective plant growth. The main goal of this initiative is to elevate crop progress while simultaneously reducing the overall usage of water resources. To achieve this, the focus is on optimizing the availability of water to crops precisely when it is needed. Currently, a significant portion of the cultivation process involves substantial time wastage in the fields. A crucial aspect of improving efficiency is the development of an effective water management system. This entails streamlining the operational aspects of water usage and concurrently reducing the complexity of the overall system circuit. The proposed system operates by processing data obtained from detectors to determine the necessary water volume. Two detectors play a crucial role in transmitting information to the central station, with a focus on monitoring soil moisture and temperature, alongside recording data on moisture levels, temperature, and daily sunlight duration. This innovative system integrates fundamental values to assess and determine the necessary water volume for irrigation. An instrumental aspect is the incorporation of Precision Agriculture (PA) coupled with parallel computing, streamlining the control of water-related challenges and concurrently optimizing crop yield. The system also contributes to the analysis of field-specific rainfall conditions.
