Transverse Mode Suppression for S0-Like SAW Mode Resonator

This paper discussed the transverse mode suppression of the So (zeroth-order symmetric Lamb mode)-like SAW mode in the LiNbO
3
/SiO
2
/SiC configuration through the periodic 3D FEM. Owing to its convex slowness curve and large bandwidth, conventional suppression method is insufficient to suppress transverse mode resonances. At first, three types of piston mode designs are examined, and achievable performances are compared. At last, the dielectric stripes design is also discussed.
