Dynamic Adjustment of Control Message Delay in Reactive Ad Hoc Routing Protocol

Control messages implemented in reactive ad hoc routing protocol are basically used to establish and maintain the path through flooding scheme which causes huge overhead. To address this issue, we have proposed a new approach to adjust delay of control message through predicted distance between source and destination node. This is to ensure that path discovery procedure is likely to be terminated earlier in the intermediate node. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed scheme can achieve lower the control overhead and higher packet delivery ratio than traditional approach.
