Unveiling a Novel Square Resonator Labyrinth Shaped Metamaterial Absorber for Ku and K Band Applications

Metamaterials have attracted significant interest because of their intriguing properties and the promising applications they offer in developing important technologies. In this article, a square resonator labyrinth-shaped meta material absorber is proposed for Ku and K band applications. The suggested design is compact, measuring 18 mm x 18 mm. It's constructed on an FR4 substrate, and the simulation results were generated using CST Studio Suite. The results from the simulation showcase absorptivity levels of 99.39%, 99.59%, 99.87%, and 99.98% achieved at resonant frequencies of 13.904 GHz, 15.992 GHz, 18.8 GHz, and 23.774 GHz, correspondingly. The Metamaterial absorber described in this paper has potential uses in satellite communication, radar surveillance, and various defense applications. To provide a deeper understanding of the absorption mechanism inherent in this design, visualizations depicting the distributions of electric field, magnetic field, and surface current are presented.
