Compact Planar N-Way Hybrid Power Divider With λ/4 N-Parallel Transmission Lines and (N – 1) × (N – 1) Isolation Network

In this letter, a compact planar N-way hybrid power divider (HPD) is presented with
$\lambda /4 \, N$
-parallel transmission lines (TLs). To realize good reflection and isolation performance among output ports in the planar structure, a
$(N-1) \times (N- 1)$
isolation network is newly shunted in the
$\lambda $
/4 N-parallel TLs in the proposed HPD, where the proposed isolation network includes one column of resistors and
$N- 2$
columns of capacitors. All the design parameters can be summarized and calculated by one even-mode and
$N- 1$
odd-mode analysis. In the experiment, two fabricated circuits show good reflection and isolation performance at all output ports. Compared with former works, N can be selected arbitrarily, and fabricated circuits could be very compact.
