A Broad Impedance Bandwidth with Dual Sense Triple Band Circular Polarized Printed Antenna

A broad impedance bandwidth with a triple band circularly polarized (CP) slotted rectangular printed monopole antenna is presented in this paper. The designed antenna produces a dual-sense of CP radiation with a satisfactory axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) within the range of impedance bandwidth (IBW). The following results are achieved using a rectangular slotted radiator and a modified partial ground plane. The rectangular slotted radiator consists of two diagonal cuts and one diagonal slut. Modified partial ground contains one equisized stub and slot. The proposed antenna provides -10 dB broad IBW of 10.2 GHz (3.7GHz - 13.9GHz, 116%) while triple bands ARBW of 4.1 GHz (3.67 GHz - 7.75 GHz, 73.87%), 0.5 GHz (9.3 GHz - 9.8 GHz, 5.23%) and 1.3 GHz (12.6 GHz -13.9 GHz, 9.81 %) simultaneously. The radiation efficiency is found more than 90% within the resulting ARBW. This proposed antenna is suitable for ultra-wideband (UWB), S-band and Ku- band applications.
