Stabilized Platform Control Unit Modelling and Control for Drilling Rotary Steerable System

A Permanent Magnetic Synchronous Motor (PMSM) is integrated within stabilized platform of Rotary Steerable System (RSS) drilling drive. By controlling the parameters of servo drive we can actively adjust position and orientation of drilling bit in real-time, responding to the drilling conditions and maintaining stability. The stabilized platform control unit designed with PI controller by using back calculation anti windup control technique. A closed loop structure is proposed to control the angular speed and current of PMSM. By controlling these parameters the anticipated stabilization of the platform achieved and overall drilling process performance enhanced with prime accuracy. These findings demonstrate the method's efficiency in rejecting instabilities. Numerical simulation verified the proposed control structure.
