Comparative Analysis of Face Recognition Based on Multiple Feature Domains

Biometric characteristics can be used to identify an individual, and face recognition systems are one example of this. However, face-morphing attacks can compromise the security of current face recognition systems. To address this issue, recent face recognition algorithms were reviewed in a paper, which focused on handcrafted facial recognition technology that falls into two groups: Face Recognition (FR) based Transform Feature Domain (TFD) and Face Recognition based Spatial Feature Domain (SFD), known as Multiple Feature Domain. The spatial features domain involves extracting features using spatial and geometric data, whereas the transform features domain involves extracting new features by applying transformations to the raw data features. The comparison between the two was based on Performance Evaluation Metrics. The review aims to cover most of the contemporary research in facial recognition.
