Smart Energy Meter Based on IoT Utilizing Raspberry Pi and Arduino

A “smart energy meter” is a piece of technology that gives usage data to help reduce electricity prices and advance the knowledge of the electricity system. It enhances customer performance and service excellence. A private national is used to automatically and wirelessly transmit your actual energy to the client. One of the essential elements needed to maintain life's amenities is electricity. For optimal use, IOT should be implemented carefully. However, there are many places in our nation where there is an excess supply of electricity, whereas many others lack even access to it. For this reason, network of things are creating an IOT based system for tracking energy that will autonomously calculate electricity bills based on consumer usage and send them to consumer's mobile phones on a monthly basis. An Arduino UNO module will show the energy consumption in LCD and, with the help of a Raspberry Pi connected to an OLED, will also provide consumers with real-time readings using the data gathered each month. Smart energy meters aid in providing customers with knowledge about their consumption patterns. In this work, an application for mobile devices has been created so that users of mobile phones can view the parameters in real time. This enables the user to keep track of their usage at all times, as well as turn off and on the main in their cell phone. This method aids in the detection of energy loss as well.
