Mitigation of Electric Vehicle Load Impact on IEEE 9-Bus Power System using DSTATCOM

The electrification of transportation, particularly the widespread adoption of electric vehicles (EVs), introduces dynamic challenges to power systems. This paper explores the impact of EV load integration on the IEEE 9-bus power system and proposes the use of Distribution Static Synchronous Compensator (DSTATCOM) as a mitigation strategy. The study employs detailed simulations to assess the effects of EV loads on system stability, voltage profile, and line losses using MATLAB Simulink Model. The effectiveness of DSTATCOM in alleviating these impacts is investigated, providing valuable insights into enhancing the resilience of power grids amidst increasing EV integration
