New Grounded Passive element-based Memelement Emulator for Meminductor and Memcapacitor Implementation

After the advent of memristor and memristor-based applications, researchers have directed their attention toward alternative nonlinear memory elements, namely meminductors and memcapacitors. Numerous circuit configurations have been developed to emulate the behavior of these mem-elements due to the unavailability of these components as discrete circuit elements in the commercial market. This work introduces a new memelement emulator implemented utilizing an operational transconductance amplifier, a current conveyor, a grounded capacitor, and a memristor. LTspice software is used to design and simulate the proposed memelement emulator using TSMC 180nm CMOS technology parameters. The proposed circuit exhibits a floating architecture and realizes the functionality of two memelements, namely the memcapacitor and meminductor. It effectively meets the performance criteria for both configurations and successfully satisfies the non-volatility test. The design relies on only two active blocks, showcasing a simpler structure in contrast to the majority of existing emulators in the literature.
