A Multidisciplinary Look at History and Future of Deepfake With Gartner Hype Cycle

Deepfake has been swiftly advanced, misused, and democratized, which created overhype around it. To separate the overhype from reality, this study presents a multidisciplinary history of deepfake and speculates on the future of deepfake using the Gartner Hype Cycle.
