Development and Application of Smart Sensing Terminals for Power Transmission Lines

The load and temperature of transmission line conductors can be used for fault diagnosis and dynamic rating. Currently, transmission lines lack integrated monitoring devices for load and temperature. Based on this, an intelligent monitoring terminal for transmission lines was developed in this article. The terminal architecture was formulated, and key modules such as intelligent control module, self-powered module, communication module, and temperature acquisition module were developed. Additionally, a convenient installation structure was also developed. Finally, the effectiveness of intelligent terminal was verified through simulation and testing. The application of the findings in this article can provide important technical support for the comprehensive operation and dynamic rating of transmission lines.
