A Hybrid Trigger Mechanism for Adaptive Function Allocation and Its Application on Airborne Self-separation

As the disadvantages of single trigger mechanism, this paper introduced a hybrid mechanism for adaptive function allocation. this mechanism proposed that the automation level of system should coordinate with task demand load (TDL) and mental load (ML), doing so by following some specific policies. To validate this mechanism, it was implicated on the function of airborne self-separation. The automation related to this function were categorized into three levels. Fuzzy logic was used when modeling the TDL and function allocator. At last, a analysis software was designed to illustrate the behavior of the hybrid mechanism under different task demand and pilots state.
