Design of an Artificial Magnetic Conductor for C-and X-Band Applications

A dual-band zero-reflection phased artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) having a circular split ring resonator (CSRR) and cross-shaped structure is proposed for wireless applications. The suggested AMC resonates at 6.01 GHz and 10.08 GHz under normal and oblique incidence. The polarization conversion ratio (PCR) is almost unit at 6.01 GHz and almost 90% at 5.93-6.12 GHz, 10.92-11.68 GHz. Moreover, the AMC has a zero-reflection phase at 6.01 GHz, 7.14 GHz, 10.68 GHz, and 13 GHz. In addition, the 2×2 array of AMC unit cell is also designed for optimum performance. The PCR is approximately unit at 6.01 GHz and nearly 90% at 5.93-6.12 GHz, 10.92-11.68 GHz. Furthermore, the 2×2 array has also zero reflection phase at 5.46, 6.01, 7.12, 10.6 and 12.845 GHz. The electrical size of the AMC unit cell is

. So, the suggested AMC can be used for meta-surface, gain enhancement purpose, wireless power transfer and for other C- and X-band wireless applications.
