A Design of Antenna for UWB Application with Double Band-Notch Characteristics

This paper presents a new design of an antenna for UWB application covering the frequency range 3.1 - 10.6 GHz. Band-notched characteristics have also been incorporated in order to avoid interference with WLAN and X-band satellite downlink communications. Electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure has been employed to reject the signals from the WLAN frequency range, and split ring resonator (SRR) has been used to reject 7.5 GHz centered frequency.
