Influence of bias field on dynamic conversion of bubbles

Domain wall structure in moving magnetic bubbles was studied as a function of bubble size. The rotating gradient experiment was used to maintain the continuous motion of a bubble and to identify the structure of the domain wall. In the magnetic garnet sample studied, more state changes occurred in bubbles with larger diameters than in bubbles with smaller diameters; changes from winding number two to winding number three occurred more readily for smaller bubble diameters than for larger diameters. Mobility and coercivity are not significantly affected by changes in bubble size. An unexpected result of this work is the discovery of a new bubble structure with a mobility about an order of magnitude lower than that of other states in this sample.<
