Enhancement of Potholes Images using Luminosity Based Enhancement Technique

In recent scenario there is a huge demand of image enhancement techniques for better traffic channelization and controlled urban traffic. A lot of driverless vehicles or automated driver guided vehicles are used in urban cities especially by physically challenged people for which better view of the roads is required and thus image enhancement techniques need to be deployed. To meet the challenge of having correct precision of potholes and pits on the roads, in this paper research is done on pothole detection and image enhancement of potholes on the roads. We have proposed a method to amplify and enhance image clarity of potholes for smooth and precise ride for driverless vehicles. The proposed system will then be tested by entropies comparison of the enhanced images with the test input images. In order to identify potholes on roads and swiftly alert drivers to potential risks so they can avoid accidents or vehicle damage, this research proposes an efficient image enhancement technique.
