One-dimensional fluid model of electronegative plasma thruster

An electronegative plasma thruster is a neutralizer-free thruster since it is more reliable than conventional ion thrusters. A one-dimensional fluid model has been applied in this work to study the magnetic filter in an electronegative plasma thruster. A PEGASES II thruster configuration is considered in this model, the x-axis is transverse to the magnetic field. A magnetized plasma is investigated to determine electron density and electron temperature distribution patterns at different gas pressures between 10 mTorr to 100 mTorr and magnetic field intensities between 20 to 80 mT. ) are also used to study the properties of magnetic filters in different plasma. This work can provide a guide to designing the magnetic filter to gain a high electronegativity ion-ion plasma.
