Fault-tolerant Design of Spaceborne Parallel Digital Channelizer

Digital channelizer is widely used in satellite communication. Their main function is to extract narrow band channels from broad band signals. Spaceborne parallel digital channelizer is implemented by SRAM-FPGA. However, in some harsh electromagnetic and radiation environments, SRAM-FPGA often suffers from soft error interference, single event upset (SEU) effect is the most common one. Aiming at the problem of how to protect the implementation of parallel digital channelizer based on SRAM-FPGA under harsh environment, a fault tolerance method of channelizer based on coding is proposed. Based on the arithmetic characteristics of parallel digital channelizer and the fault analysis results caused by SEU, the corresponding redundant channelizer and error detection and correction modules are designed to realize the detection and correction of SEU. Experimental results show that this method is effective for SEU fault tolerance, and its resource cost is significantly less than that of triple modular redundancy (TMR).
